Ongoing Projects

  • OpenSatRange: Un cyber range aperto per la formazione in cyber security di operatori di sistemi e reti satellitari, Italian Space Agency (ASI) reseach project, bando di finanziamento “Giornate della Ricerca Accademica Spaziale”, Tavolo tematico “Cybersecurity”: the project aims to develop a cyber range platform able to offer an environment in which to emulate/simulate a customizable space system to support training courses in cyber security.

    Prime: University of Genoa

Our technical contribution involves the creation of the simulation component of the cyber range depicting a terrestrial/satellite communication system in order to train managers and users to identify and protect themselves from cyber attacks of various kinds.

  • VALU3S - Verification and Validation of Automated Systems’ Safety and Security, EU H2020-ECSEL-2019-2-RIA (2020-2023): this ECSEL JU project aims to evaluate the state-of-the-art V&V methods and tools, and design a multi-domain framework to create a clear structure around the components and elements needed to conduct the V&V process. The main expected benefit of the framework is to reduce the time and cost needed to verify and validate automated systems with respect to safety, cyber-security, and privacy requirements. This is done through the identification and classification of evaluation methods, tools, environments, and concepts for V&V of automated systems with respect to the mentioned requirements.

Our contribution is mainly focusing on the security assessment of wireless interfaces (radio link / CAN and WiFi / CAN) included in the test smart Agribot system.
